Recently, after more than three months of hard work, the China Electric Power Research Institute has completed the electrical assessment test of the new UHV AC composite cross arm insulator, and a breakthrough has been made in the research and development of the UHV AC new composite cross arm.
The composite cross arm has the advantages of good anti-fouling performance, lightweight, and convenient installation. When applied to UHV poles and towers, it can produce good economic and social benefits. To support the development of a composite cross arm for the poles and towers of the State Grid Corporation’s 1000 kV Ximeng-Shengli UHV AC transmission project, the project team went deep along the project to investigate the operating environment and the external insulation configuration of adjacent lines.
